Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

American entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
