The star midfielder Functioned in a high position out wide and did plenty of dirty work. Displayed flashes of quality but dragged an attempt high. Replaced towards the end for a teammate, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7/10

The winger Was presented with the team's clearest opportunity in the opening period, his strike smartly stopped from Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah hanging back, he was forced to offer an outlet on the right yet his deliveries from wide areas were hit and miss. Taken off with 15 to go. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker scoring seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals for his country. The first a typical poacher’s finish while the second a classy header having drifted away off his defender. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and England are strong contenders in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. 8/10

The attacker Found it tough to influence play on the left flank. Had a presentable chance after being played in by Bellingham but the keeper denied him. His replacement made much more of effect after coming on. Five
