Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
Police have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
