Brian Eno Urges Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The project aims to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of musicians appearing on Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which successfully generated a considerable total for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The track blends a mix of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The team running the campaign have clarified that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These proceeds will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the more the merrier. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
